The site’s name was the “End of the World”. It was one of the city’s last slums. The project brief was determined through a participative process involving everyone in the local community in order to guarantee the project’s social and economical sustainability.

The new Centre for Theology and Ministry and Dalton McCaughy Library (CTM/DML) for the Uniting Church in Australia in partnership with the Society of Jesus comprises a teaching facility, professorial and administrative offices, a small chapel and an important theological library. The new building is located on the eastern side of the Ormond College grounds in Parkville, immediately behind the Wyselaskie Hall, Maclean House.

The Church and Santa Fe training Center, dedicated to Josémaria Escrivá Balaguer, is located on the west side of Mexico City in an urban context of recently completed projects. The completion of this project results in an urban space that is recovered, literally conformed by trash creating a representation of social and cultural values that have become a city landmark.

Hamburg-based architectural practice gmp architekten has designed the Zhongguancun Christian Church located in Beijing, China. The project features vertical fins running along the building’s perimeter that forming an unique homogeneous skin. It creates a special lighting atmosphere inside the church hall, matching the ecclesiastical function of the space.

Buildings should be simple and warm.
Seen from the outside, the building appears as an elementary volume formed by its white surfaces. The main space is defined by the spatial continuity that takes us from the street and swifts us to the quartz stone, left naked.

Olson Kundig Architects will be breaking ground this year for the construction of the Gethsemane Lutherane Church in Seatle.  The $20 million project includes the remodeling of the church’s main sanctuary, design of a garden, chapel and a new parish life center that includes offices, a library, fellowship hall, kitchen and social services.  Above the parish life center, a five-story, fifty-unit complex of affordable housing, designed by SMR Architects, will provide the final addition to the Church.
