Eco Factor: Hybrid yacht powered by solar and wind energy.
Italian design studio Pama Design has come up with a concept yacht that is powered by a zero-emission electric engine fueled by solar and wind energy. Dubbed the Tritone 80, the 80-foot motor yacht features a fiberglass body with a 7KW photovoltaic array onboard.
The central idea of the project has been based on the desire to produce an aesthetically pleasing yacht that makes it possible to live at sea with minimal environmental impact. When the yacht is moored, onboard passengers can raise the cover and use it as a roof to shelter the area from the sun. This surface also features photovoltaic panels to increase energy output.
