This modern beach house for a prominent Kuwait family weaves together culture and modernism through materials and traditions incorporating elements of desert and water. The house is for entertaining and relaxation, therefore it had to accommodate plenty of guests, while maintaining the families privacy. One way this was accomplished was by utilizing the vertical circulation of the house to separate public, private, and service spaces. Follow the break for photographs and further description about this beach house in Kuwait.

Nestled into the landscape, this beach house blends with the natural topography of the coastline of Kuwait. It slowly unfolds itself to the visitor, as it is approached from the desert.

Moving through the house the lower level extends into the landscape and the
infinity pool in the garden provides an accentuated visual connection to the sea.

The private side of the house, located at the entry level, is concealed from the visitors by a bamboo wall. The bedrooms and other private living spaces remain isolated from daily activities. A three-way stair, placed at the center of building, organizes the different flows of family, friends and guests.

The architects design approach began with creating an organizational and formal structure to the beach house dictated by the ability to maximize views to the sea. They also had to accommodate the client’s request for a single house, two bungalows and a boathouse, with possible plans for expansion in the future.
