The Mozaika seat was designed by young Washington-based designer Lui Kawasumi, and was made using an experimental laser-cutting technique.

Description from the designer:
I made the Mozaika Seat as part of a series exploring an experimental laser-cutting pattern. Once I had the sheet cut, I polished it and freely hammered it to make the form.

What really interests me is that the geometry allows the individual squares to remain flat and reflect light much like a mosaic does. This piece was shown in NY at the NOHO Design District during Design Week In May 2011.
