Before this house was built, there was a steep cliff with luxuriant trees covering the entire site.

This house is incorporated with retaining wall. The façade is twofold: cedar louvers on top of exposed concrete framework with cedar grain. The intention is revivification of segmented cut trees by using cedar for both moulds and louvers - formalizing the memory of what used to be there.

When it gets dark, lights from the interior spaces illuminate the outside vertical latticework, creating ambiguities around the context.
