How could one revive vernacular architecture in such an exceptional setting as Imerovigli, with its view of Caldera, opposite the Skaros rock? At Santorini Grace, the layout of rooms follows in plan the broken geometries of the ground’s contours, forming in effect a series of new stone ledges in the steep drop of Caldera.

These jagged lines converge in mid-slope at the level which produces the greatest possible width within the site and it is at this level that the pool of the new hotel is situated. The reception and restaurant spaces are concentrated around this level.

Out of the new rooms, some have acquired for their elevation a face of the region’s recognizable volcanic rock with gaps from which rays of light are allowed to pass. In these rooms, the elevation gives way as small private open spaces form for contemplating the view. The remaining rooms have a wall thickness at their front elevation which recalls Santorini’s historic towers and fortresses. In this elevation, small openings widen in conical fashion forming in the wall’s interior a surface with large openings and the minimum possible mass in between.

Floors in the new hotel are of cement in keeping with the earthy tones of aspa (the compact soil in Santorini formed from volcanic ash, lava and pumice stone) together with the black and red stones in the walls they form a dialogue with the island’s unique geological strata.

The Grace Suite
SUITE: LUXURY OVER THE CALDERA
The Grace Suite represents the hotel’s premier accommodation. A tribute to the understated elegance that has become a hallmark of Grace Hotels.

The Honeymoon Suites
HONEYMOON SUITES IN SANTORINI
The honeymoon suites are beautiful, softly furnished suites, each enjoying sensational views towards Thirasia island, Oia, and the Aegean sea.

The VIP Suite
The VIP Suite offers a very spacious terrace with a large plunge pool.

The Junior Suites
Each of our individually designed Junior Suites offer spacious accommodation and have their own distinctive touches of style.
One especially private and secluded corner suite is at the lowest level of the hotel and features extraordinary views of Thirasia island and the magical sunsets.
Those on the higher levels enjoy wider terraces.

The Superior Suites
Our Superior Suites feature a generous terrace with plunge pool and comfortable seating that leads into the living room.
The Caldera Suite is located on the very highest level featuring remarkable panoramic views.
On the middle level of the hotel, the Skaros Suite enjoys direct views of the Aegean and the dramatic Skaros Rock.

The Deluxe Rooms
Our Deluxe rooms are on various levels of this steeply terraced hotel.
All Deluxe Rooms enjoy breathtaking views of the Caldera, Skaros Rock and of course the amazing Santorini sunsets.
Seven of the rooms feature a personal exterior plunge pool.
One has a spectacular five metre high domed ceiling and a lit mezzanine design feature.
The highest of the Deluxe Rooms has a spacious terrace offering even more panoramic views.
