Project description below provided by architect, Mobius Architects
Edge House is designed by Polish practice Mobius Architects. Building will be located on a plot which nature is created by eight meter high limestone escarp – a remain from the old quarry. It additionally provides very interesting panorama view, because plot is placed near the centre of Cracow, a beautiful historic city. The concept of the building was based on creating that kind of building form which will fit in a rock slope. Also form of building was strictly determined by spatial development plan for that location, which requires at least 30 degree tilt roof. Main block covered with natural slate is inclined and placed on a sloping part of plot. It is intersected by terrace made from white, concrete frame which is gently bending and almost disappearing in plot’s greenery. This formal solutions will make coherence between building and its surroundings. The construction started last month and is going to be finished by the end of this year.images courtesy Mobius Architects
