The dundee city council launched an international architecture competition to design a new £47m center for art and design. 'V&A at dundee', which will sit on the bank of the river tay at the foot of the city's union street, is a collaborative effort by london's victoria and albert museum, abertay and dundee universities, dundee city council and scottish enterprise. the new center will be scotland's leading centre for design and art.

The internationally-renowned architecture and design firm REX recently has completed the Vakko Fashion Center and Power Media Center in Istanbul, Turkey. The project will serve as corporate headquarters of Vakko (Turkey’s preeminent fashion house) and Power Media (Turkey’s best-known music and television network). It was built based on the existing abandoned hotel’s structure, REX divided the project into two structurally independent components – The outer ring concrete skeleton and the center ring for a set of steel boxes named the Showcase, it also acts to serve the circulation path that winds from bottom to top of the Showcase.

Vertical Theatrics: The mechanistic tower of REX/OMA’s Wyly Theatre enhances the flexibility of the performance along with connection to the world outside 
With its rippling aluminum facade and crisp cubic form, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre is an edgy presence in Dallas’s refined brick-and-stone Arts District. Corners peel back to expose massive X braces; floors cantilever at gravity-defying angles. Instead of flowing out like a traditional theater, with the stage in the center and support spaces to the sides, the Wyly pushes up, nine stories, with the lobby in the basement, the stage on the street, and rehearsal studio, costume shop, offices, and classrooms snapped together above like a transformer. The “vertical city” meets the Texas prairie.
